Barcelona plot transfer departure 'with EIGHT players set to leave after the season ends'

Barcelona are prepared to see up to eight players depart the club this summer as part of a brutal overhaul of their first-team squad. The Catalan giants are prepared to cut their losses on major stars. According to Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona chiefs want to rebuild the first team in order to guide in a new era of success both domestically and across the continent. "Obliged to sell," reads the headline. Antoine Griezmann, Philippe Coutinho, Martin Braithwaite, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Carles Alena, Samuel Umtiti and Neto are set to leave the club. Coutinho has spent the season on loan at Bayern Munich and has made 32 appearances, scoring six times. Manchester United and Chelsea are keen on to sign the player, who will cost £145m. Griezmann has struggled to impress at Barcelona as he has scored 14 goals in 37 games. Manchester United also keen on Griezmann. He would cost £90m. Rakitic has long been tipped with a Barca exit, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter Milan all linked with a move. Samuel Umititi has also been linked with a move to United and Chelsea and it appears the France World Cup winner will be available this summer. Source: Daily Mail
