UEFA football awards to hold on TODAY: Who are nominees for OTHER awards besides Men’s Player of the year

UEFA will have its football awards ceremony on Thursday the same day of the UEFA Champions League groupings.

Today the best players both male and female will be recognized from the previous season and the ceremony will be hosted in Monaco.

The two major awards of the night include UEFA Men’s Player of the year and UEFA Women’s Player of the year but there are other awards.

The awards include: Goalkeeper of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League season, Defender of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League season, Midfielder of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League season, Forward of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League season.

Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus (formerly of Real Madrid), Luka Modric of Real Madrid and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah are the nominees for the UEFA Men’s Player of the year award while Pernille Harder (Wolfsburg & Denmark), Ada Hegerberg (Lyon) and Amandine Henry (Portland Thorns/Lyon & France) will battle for the women’s version.

Positional award nominees for the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League season are;

Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker (Roma, now Liverpool), Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus, now Paris), Keylor Navas (Real Madrid)

Defenders: Marcelo (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Raphaël Varane (Real Madrid)

Midfielders: Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Luka Modrić (Real Madrid)

Forwards: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid, now Juventus), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).
