Tottenham transfer twist over Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as Southampton issue new ultimatum

Tottenham are reportedly some way off Southampton's valuation of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and the player will not be moving there unless they get close. The fresh claim follows reports that Spurs had agreed a deal for Hojbjerg yesterday in the region of £15million. Hojbjerg looked likely to leave after announcing his lofty career ambitions to become a Champions League winner. The 25-year-old has entered the final year of his deal, meaning Southampton have had to bring their valuation down. Spurs have been in talks with the Saints for nearly two weeks now as they look to finalise a move for the Danish international. Yet the saga is continuing to rumble on despite Southampton's desire to offload Hojbjerg this summer. The club do not want to risk losing a player of his quality and value on a free transfer a year down the line. Last night reports claimed that a deal of £15m has been agreed between Spurs and the Saints. But now according to Radio Solent, the deal still has a way to go and Southampton will not settle for below their valuation. Sports Editor Adam Blackmore tweeted: "#Saintsfc #thfc Not sure who from Spurs is briefing some on this... BUT neither deal is don "Spurs are not close to Saints valuation of PEH, and he won’t be moving there unless they get close. Obviously that situation is not helping KWP deal coming the other way currently." Source: teamtalk
