Torres, Sterling and De Bruyne: How Manchester City could line up vs Tottenham

Manchester City are set to face Tottenham on Saturday, as Premier League returns after the international break. Ferran Torres could start for the Citizens after his starring hat-trick for Spain on international duty. However, City remain without Fernandinho, Nathan Ake and Benjamin Mendy due to injury, while decisions need to be made on Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling, following their return to training this week. Of the duo, Sterling is the more likely to be risked, with Jose Mourinho certain the England international will feature against his side despite withdrawing from the England squad this week. With Gabriel Jesus in fine form, there is little need to risk Aguero and he may instead be an option on the bench to call upon if required in the second half. In midfield, Rodri's role will be vital against a Spurs side that stands as the highest-scorers in the league this season but the best form of defence may be to attack. It could be time for Guardiola to roll the dice by utilising both Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden from the off, providing a boost in creativity. With three in-form players ahead of them, and Foden full of confidence after scoring a brace for England against Iceland in midweek, the pair could be the key to victory. In defence, it's likely to be more of the same for Guardiola with Ederson between the sticks behind a back four of Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and Joao Cancelo. Predicted City XI vs Tottenham: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Foden; Torres, Jesus, Sterling Predicted substitutes: Steffen, Garcia, Zinchenko, Gundogan, Silva, Mahrez, Aguero Source- Manchester Evening News Join us on Telegram!
