Cristiano Ronaldo is returning to Madrid for a court date on Tuesday in which he could be fined 18.8 million euros (USD 21.4 million) for tax fraud as part of a deal reached with the Spanish taxman.
However, Juventus star was denied permission for special security measures when he enters a Madrid courthouse, according to the Independent.
The court session has been scheduled to begin at 9.50am and has been reported to be short.
Ronaldo will likely not be required to serve the sentence given to him as prison sentences of two years or less for first-time non-violent offenders are usually suspended under Spanish law. This comes with the condition that the accused will commit no further crimes in the country during the given period.
