Manchester United have reportedly sealed the first signing of the summer transfer window. According to AS, they signed Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Fernandez Carreras on a free transfer.
The 17-year-old has ‘reached an agreement’ with United and will sign a four-year deal at Old Trafford. The left-back was part Real Madrid's youth academy.
Carreras was unable to agree a new deal with the Spanish club and his deal ended in June 30. Madrid did make every effort to try and sign the youngster to a new, improved deal. However, he decided to leave.
Carreras is excited by a potential new ‘adventure’ and is confident he can ‘convince’ Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he is ready to step up to the first team. The defender has been offered the opportunity to train with the senior team if they have issues at left-back.
