Manchester United keeping tabs on Real Madrid defender after Donny van de Beek signing

Sergio Reguilon has been considered as a potential transfer target for Manchester United this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News. United are weighing up a move for the Real Madrid left-back due to the current uncertainty in that position. Luke Shaw is currently injured and there are doubts whether Brandon Williams has what it takes to push on. United were interested in Ben Chilwell, who joined Chelsea. Reguilon spent last season on loan at Sevilla and played a key role in their Europa League semi-final win over United, assisting their equalising goal. The 23-year-old has returned to parent club Real Madrid this summer. However, he is stuck behind Ferland Mendy and Marcelo in the pecking order for places. Reguilon was considered by Chelsea as an alternative to Chilwell due to his modest £22.3 valuation. He finished the 2019/20 LaLiga campaign in the WhoScored Team of the Season at left-back (7.10 rating) after playing a direct hand in six goals (two goals, four assists).
