How Manchester United could line-up with Van de Beek, Fernandes and Pogba

Manchester United have signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax on a five-year deal for a fee rising to £39m. The midfielder moves to Old Trafford for a fee of £34.6m - plus another £4.4m in add-ons. He has signed a contract until June 2025 after completing a medical in the Netherlands on Monday. Van de Beek has a chance to be a very valuable signing for United. The Dutchman can fill in for either Bruno Fernandes in attacking midfield, or for Paul Pogba in a deeper role. There is a way for Van de Beek to play alongside both Fernandes and Pogba if Solskjaer looks to implement a 4-4-2 formation. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used the formation in a 1-1 draw with Everton, using Nemanja Matic, Fred, Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes. Van de Beek could even play furthest forward, with Fernandes dropping deeper.
