Liverpool could lose money, if Coutinho joins Manchester United
According to recent reports, Manchester United are interested in signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
Coutinho, 26, has moved to La Liga from Liverpool on January of 2018 for £142 m and now could return to Premier League as he is not happy with his current situation at Catalan club. Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde prefers to use Ousmane Dembele, Arthur and Arturo Vidal instead of former Liverpool man. This is the reason why Manchester United have emerged as a potential buyer of the Brazilian.
Liverpool could miss some money if Coutinho leaves Barcelona.
According to the contract details, Barcelona is obliged to pay £4.4 m to Merseyside club for every 25th match of Coutinho in the squad. Brazilian has already appeared 34 times for La Liga giants.
Also Barcelona should pay additional £4.4 m if they win Champions League with Coutinho in the squad and additional £4.4 m if they qualify for Champions League.
Overall, Liverpool could miss out £22 m if Coutinho joins Red Devils.
