Jurgen Klopp gives three-player injury update as one star sent back to UK

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update from the team’s pre-season training camp in Austria.

The Reds captain Jordan Henderson and defender Joel Matip are making “very positive” progress in their rehabilitation from knee and foot injuries, while Alexa Oxlade-Chamberlain has sustained a problem and will miss the rest of the pre-season.

Liverpool are set to offer an audacious opening bid worth just £13.4m for Thiago Alcantara. They have agreed on personal terms over a four-year deal with the Bayern Munich star, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.
