Real Madrid star James Rodriguez joined the La Liga side on 22 July 2014, after impressive World Cup performance with Colombia National Team.
The Colombia international has made 111 appearances with Real Madrid, has scored 36 goals and provided 41 assists in all competitions.
In the 2016/17 season, James barely played a total of 1,824 minutes in comparison to his limited 1,858 minutes last season. Despite 11 goals and 13 assists, he failed to gain proper playing time under Zinedine Zidane.
On July 11, 2017, it was announced that James was loaned to Bayern Munich on a two-year-long deal. Bayern paid Real Madrid €13 million as a loan fee.
In the first season with the Bundesliga club, the Colombia international credited as a key member behind Bayern Munich’s title defence for his contribution of 7 goals and 11 assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances.
James scored his opening goal of this season in a 3-1 victory over Bayern Leverkusen. However, things went wrong for James.
It has been reported by Kicker, that Bayern Munich not likely to sign a permanent deal with James. He has not adapted to new coach Niko Kovac. Moreover, the 27-year-old recently picked up a knee injury that could see him miss the remainder of the calendar year.
According to the latest reports in the German media, the Colombian international is no longer happy at Munich.
Rodriguez has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus in recent times, however, James’ number one preference right now would be a return to Madrid.
James would return to Madrid at the end of the loan period next summer to fight for his place, with the likes of Ceballos, Isco, Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.
The Colombia international has made 50 appearances with Bayern Munich. He has scored 11 goals and provided 16 assists.
