Barcelona face losing €70M on Dembele sale

Barcelona’s French forward Ousmane Dembele has been linked with a move away from Barcelona in recent weeks. It has been reported, that Premier League side Arsenal have made a loan-to-buy bid for the 21-year-old. Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Liverpool have also keen on to sign the player. Recently, Barcelona have set a €100 million asking price for the French. However, the La Liga giants will have to write of €40m if they wish to sell Dembele, according to Die Welt. The report claims, that while Barcelona paid €105m for the Frenchman, the fee will jump to €145m should he meet all objectives set in the original agreement. If Dembele is sold before his deal to 2022 expires, then Barca will be obliged to pay Borussia Dortmund the entire total in bonuses due. It could mean the La Liga champions losing as much as  €70m on Dembele's sale. Meanwhile, Arsenal and Liverpool are reluctant to go higher than €65m for the France international. Ousmane Dembele has made 15 appearances this season so far in all competitions and has scored 6 goals and provided one assist.
