Liverpool fans want Bayern star at Anfield after Champions League display

Plenty of Liverpool fans have urged the club to re-sign Philippe Coutinho after he helped Bayern Munich to reach the Champions League final last night. The Brazilian playmaker, who left Anfield for Barcelona in January 2018, contributed to the downfall of his parent club in the competition when he scored twice against them in Bayern’s 8-2 demolition of the La Liga side six days ago. He had to be content with a substitute’s role again last night’s 3-0 win against Lyon but he showed glimpses of him at his best during his 15-minute appearance, completing nine of his 10 passes and finishing to the net from a thread pass by Thomas Muller, only to have the goal ruled out for offside.
