There is a battle, but it’s not what most people think: Lovren on Salah - Mane rivalry

Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren admits there is a rivalry between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, but disagrees with people outside Anfield, who usually see that in a negative way.  Merseyside club forwards scored the same amount of goals (22) in the 2018/19 campaign to win the Premier League Golden Boot. People started to talk about the “rivalry” during the last season.  The conversations became more intense, when Mane got angry at his partner’s selfishness during the PL game against Burnley at Turf Moor.  Lovren sees the battle in a different way. He told KingFut: “It is good to have competition between players. It is normal, Salah wants to score more than Mane, and this is football. If both players are in good form, then it serves the team well and that’s the most important thing.” “When Salah doesn’t score in a game, he doesn’t blame Mane for not scoring. Instead, he focuses on his mistakes to improve for the next game.” the Croatian international added. Lovren left Liverpool this summer to join Zenit St. Petersburg.
