La Liga Team of the Season: Messi, Silva, Oblak, Benzema

La Liga 2018/19 season was the 88th edition of the tournament. Barcelona crowed as league winners for the second season in a row on the 28 April. Atletico Madrid were the second, while Real Madrid finished the season in the third place. The fourth team to participate in next Season’s Champions League will be Valencia. Getafe and Sevilla were earned places for the Europa League. Girona, Huesca and Rayo Vallencano relegated to Segunda. Lionel Messi was confirmed as La Liga's top scorer for the third season running. Now let us take a look who impressed and made it into 2018/19 season’s Dream team of the week by VBet Fantasy Football. Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak kept more clean sheets (20) than any other goalkeeper in LaLiga this season and had by far and away from the best save success rate (80.8%). Oblak conceded fewer goals (29) than any other team in La Liga this season. Barcelona are the dominant side in the team of the week. Gerard Pique is the first of the quintet to feature. His form since the turn of the year provided an emphatic response, with the 32-year-old playing a key role in the Blaugrana’s retention of their Liga crown. No defender racked up more assists than Jordi Alba (8), while the Spain international also chipped in with a couple of goals himself. Luis Suarez scored 21 goals and registered six assists for Barcelona this season. The 32-year-old gave another reminder of his attacking influence in Spain and it would be hard to find a replacement for him. The fourth player from Barcelona in our team of the week is Lionel Messi. We do not need to say many words about him, just look at numbers. The Argentine had a direct hand in 49 goals; he scored 36 goals and created 13 assists. Levante star Jose Campana is another star in our team of the week. The 25-year-old has made 36 La Liga appearances for his club, scored four goals and created nine assists. Jonathan Silva, 24, made 30 appearances for Leganes, in the 2018/19 season. The left-back scored three goals and created 6 assists. Pablo Sarabia of Sevilla is coming off the most prolific campaign of his career, having been directly involved in 25 goals at Sevilla. He scored 12 goals and created 13 assists. Valencia captain Dani Parejo scored nine goals for his side and created six assists. Parejo made more key passes from set-piece situations (48) than any other player in La Liga this season. Mikel Oyarzabal, a 22-year-old left-winger, has made 37 appearances for Real Sociedad in current La Liga season.  He scored 13 goals and created four assists. Real Madrid suffered second-worst season in their history. However, they managed to finish third in La Liga and Karim Benzema was the one who helped them. Benzema made 36 appearances for Los Blancos, scored 21 goals and created seven assists. Just for the statistics, Real Madrid scored just 63 goals in 2018/19 La Liga campaign.
