ESPN: Top - 10 worst transfers in the Premier League history

ESPN has published their ranking of 50 Premier League worst signing in history of the tournament.  Ali Dia’s move from Blyth Spartans to Southampton in 1996 leads the ranking. Senegalese international’s transfer was ridiculous, because back then Saints representatives believed he was legendary Liberian forward George Weah’s cousin.  It eventually came out that Dia didn’t fit the Premier League level and he played only once for the Saints.  Who else joined Dia in ESPN’s rating to complete the Top - 10. 1.Ali Dia (Blyth Spartans - Southampton, 1996) 2.Danny Drinkwater (Leicester City - Chelsea, 2017) 3.Ricardo Alvarez (Inter Milan - Sunderland, 2015) 4.Bosko Balaban (Dinamo Zagreb - Aston Villa, 2001) 5.Adrian Mutu (Parma - Chelsea, 2003) 6.Pablo Oswaldo (Roma - Southampton, 2013) 7.Andriy Shevchenko (Milan - Chelsea, 2006) 8.Tomas Brolin (Parma - Leeds United, 1995) 9.Winston Bogarde (Barcelona - Chelsea, 2000) 10.Mario Balotelli (Milan - Liverpool, 2014)  In order to watch the Top - 50, click the link here.

We’ve got six home games left to play and I think any Villa fan would agree that giving up that advantage is a massive decision: Christian Purslow
