We’ve got six home games left to play and I think any Villa fan would agree that giving up that advantage is a massive decision: Christian Purslow

Clubs from the relegation zone could lose £200 mln. Why would I risk the future of the club in the Premier League by agreeing to play in neutral venues? This is the latest statement from Aston Villa chief executive Christian Purslow.  Villa boss says he doesn’t agree with the latest proposition to finish the 2019/20 campaign in 9 venues.  Earlier, The Telegraph has reported about 9 stadiums that could host the remaining 92 matches. Villa Park was among them, but, still, Purslow questioned the idea of League chiefs.  “Personally I’m against it. We’re a club that prides itself on home form. Two-thirds of our wins this season have come at home.” Purslow told talkSPORT. “We’ve got six home games left to play and I think any Villa fan would agree that giving up that advantage is a massive decision for somebody running Aston Villa and I certainly wouldn’t agree to that unless those circumstances are right.” The Premier League has been stopped since March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
