Promise Christian Eriksen made Daniel Levy that ended Manchester United transfer talks

Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen assured Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in the past that he would never go to another English club, according to Daily Mail. The 27-year-old made the promise in 2017 when he was being linked with Chelsea. Eriksen has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United but therefore he is seeking a transfer abroad, with Real Madrid being his first-choice option. The Danmark international first announced his intentions to move after the Champions League final, he told Ekstra Bladet: "I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new. "I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened in Tottenham, nor will it be negative. But I have also said that I would like to try something new."
