Watching Champions League final ‘hurt’ Iniesta

Andres Iniesta reflected on Real Madrid’s triumph in the Champions League  during his recent interview, admitting that it hurt not to see the club of his life there. Barcelona were knocked out at the quarter-final stage to Roma and had to watch their eternal enemies go all the way to Kiev and win their third consecutive European crown. He said: "It hurt a lot, not because of the result itself. You like it less if Real win, it annoys you, but it bothers you more that Barca weren't there in the final. "They are happy with the Champions League [though] and we are happy with La Liga and the Copa del Rey. Iniesta who won eight La Liga titles, four Champions League and six Copa del Rey crowns left Barcelona after 22 years at the club and joined Japanese League. The World Cup winner with Spain also took the opportunity to analyse Spain's chances in the Mundial  this summer, which will be his last tournament for 'La Roja'. He added: "We have a great team and a great squad. We have a good mix of young players and those with more experience. We are going with the maximum talent. "I think we had two warnings at the Euros (2016) and in Brazil (2014) and that has to make us start with our feet on the ground. Let's face the group and go step-by-step. If we do things right, we will be fighting for sure,"Iniesta added.
