How United & Chelsea could line up with Lampard in charge and Griezman in action

Photo/SkySports Manchester United begin Premier League 2019/20 campaign by hosting Chelsea on Sunday, 11 August. It’s the first time they’ve met the Blues at Old Trafford on an opening day since the 2004/05 season. Both teams will look very different to last season. Reminder: Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League and failed to qualify for Champions League. Chelsea, meanwhile,  finished season in the third place, qualified for the Champions League, won the Europa League title and will play in the UEFA Super Cup against Liverpool. Manchester United: Red Devils signed midfielder Daniel James and they’re also looking to sign Jan Oblak as a replacement for David de Gea and Aaron Wan-BIssaka from Crystal Palace. Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli and Harry Maguire of Leicester City are the big names on their radar. Barcelona were close to signing Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann but their failure to make an official move game hope to Manchester United. United are willing to pay his transfer fee of £95m and meet wage demands of around £450.000 per week something that is not easy for United with their current budget. United could also sign Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona, with the Croatian keen to move on this summer. Chelsea: The Blues could be under the leadership of club legend Frank Lampard, who is currently in charge of Derby. Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is on his way to Juventus. At right-back, there's every chance returning Wigan loanee Reece James, 19. Mason Mount, who spent 2018-19 at Derby under the tutelage of Lampard could return to Chelsea and another youngster Tammy Abraham is likely to start up front. Another new name in the Chelsea squad will be Christian Pulisic, who joined the club after spending half-season at Borussia Dortmund.
