Unai Emery has decided to sanction a transfer for Yannick Carrasco after Arsenal were offered the chance to sign the Belgium international.
The 25-year-old surprisingly left Atletico Madrid and joined Chinese side Dalian Yitfang a year ago. But now he seems unhappy at the club and reportedly has instructed his representatives to contact with Arsenal over a potential move.
According to Foot Mercato, Emery has reposnded favorably to the opportunity to sign Carrasco and a formal bid is expected ‘in the coming days’.
However, Carrasco is earning around £8.8m a year in China, a salary Arsenal cannot match, though he appears open to accepting a pay cut in order to return to Europe.
Carrasco netted seven goals in 25 games in all competitions in the Far East and played a key role in avoiding relegation.
