Unai Emery made it clear there’s no way back for Laurent Koscielny at Arsenal

Unai Emery has made it clear there’s no way back to Arsenal for Laurent Koscielny as the captain won’t be able continue training with Arsenal’s under-23s when they return to London after their US tour. Earlier this month Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny revealed that he doesn’t want to travel with the club to US as he is eyeing a move away from the Premier League side. It has been reported that Koscielny and Ligue 1 side Rennes have reached an agreement, however, the French club’s president Olivier Létang has dismissed the claims. Amid transfer links the 33-year-old will no longer train at Arsenal. Following Arsenal’s defeat to Real Madrid, Unai Emery said: “I spoke about him with respect to him. “I tried for him to be with us in the pre-season here and to continue working to find a solution between the club, between him and between us. “When he decided not to stay with us here in the tour, the solution now is only for the club and him because he decided to be out of the team in pre-season. “I respect him, but we have responsibility, he has his responsibility and the club has their responsibility and I have my responsibility. And now it is one issue only for the club and for him. My idea is continuing with the players we are working with and the players that want to be here.” It was a bad start to Arsenal’s tour but they finished in the United States having beaten Colorado Rapids, Bayern Munich, Fiorentina and then losing to Real Madrid on penalties.
