Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Matt Doherty. According to sports jounalist
Fabrizio Romano, total agreement between the two clubs will be reached soon.
Jose Mourinho's side are also negotiating with AC Milan in order to sell Serge Aurier.
Spurs have signed their long time target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer from Southampton.
Let's see how Spurs lineup could look llike with both Doherty and Hojbjerg in a 4-2-3-1 formation:
Doherty, given his spell as right wing-back at Wolves, will slot in seamless in north London, despite the fact they play with a back-four. Mourinho already had Aurier playing as attacking full-back, while Ben Davies tucked inside to create a back-three on the opposite side of the pitch.
This let the right winger, Lucas Moura for most of last season, drop into the right half space and either create for Harry Kane, or dart into the penalty area. The Irishman can therefore push even further forward and is a like-for-like replacement and won’t have to worry too much about a change in formation as a result.
In midfield there is newcomer Hojbjerg alongside Giovani Lo Celso to create a tenacious yet technical central combination.
Son Heung-Min, Dele Alli and Steven Bergwin will form the midfield attacking line, with talisman Harry Kane standing in the front.
