Tottenham are in advanced negotiations with Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram. The 23-year-old would become Spurs’ first signing of the transfer window if he were to join from the Bundesliga side.

Thuram scored eight goals and provided a further seven assists for Gladbach in the Bundesliga last season and his form earned him a call-up to the France squad for Euro 2020.

Spurs are entering the transfer window without a manager having so far failed to replace Jose Mourinho. Chairman Daniel Levy dismissed the Portuguese in April following a poor period of form.

According to RMC, the club have ‘accelerated negotiations’ for Thuram, who joined Gladbach from the French side Guingamp in 2019. He has scored 25 goals in 79 appearances for the German club.
