TOP 8 Chelsea academy graduates who made debuts under Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard set Chelsea Academy first-team debuts records as he has given more debuts this season to Academy graduates than any other manager in Chelsea history. In the 4-0 victory over Everton, Lampard introduced the 18-year-old Armando Broja, who has become the eight-academy product to make his debut this season. Chelsea celebrated his 115 years of foundation and Lampard already gained his place in record books of the club as a manager. After his marvellous career as a player for the club, now Lampard is building a legacy, not just a team. Chelsea were handed a two-year transfer ban by FIFA, after 150 rule braches involving 69 academy players over several seasons. Lampard did not sign any player in the summer before FIFA transfer ban reduced following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. During January, Lampard again opted against signing players. However, he did his best as the manager lean on only academy graduates. In addition, currently, the number of those players is eight. Mason Mount - 21 years Mason Mount made his debut for the Blues in August 2019 and even scored first Premier League goal of Lampard era. He has since made 41 appearances for the club has scored six goals and has created five assists. Reece James – 20 years James got his first full Chelsea debut in September 2019 and in his debut game, he got two assists. He has now made 28 appearances for the club, has scored twice and has created four assists. Tariq Lamptey – 19 years Lamptey made his professional debut for Chelsea against Arsenal in the Premier League on 29 December 2019. However, in January, he joined Brighton for €3.30m fee. Ian Maatsen- 18 years Maatsen made his Chelsea debut on 25 September 2019, as a substitute in a 7-1 EF Cup victory over Grimsby Town. On March 10, 2020, Maatsen turned 18 and signed a new contract extension with the club until 2025. Marc Guehi – 19 years Guehi made his professional debut in September, against Grimsby Town. However, he joined Swansea on loan in January. Billy Gilmour – 18 years Lampard gave Gilmour his senior debut on 10 July 2019, in a pre-season friendly. His Premier League debut Gilmour made on 31 August. Tino Anjorin- 18 years Anjorin made his Premier League debut on March 8, 2020. Anjorin will be hoping to be on the bench once again. Armando Broja – 18 years Broja made his Premier League debut in the same game as Anjorin, against Everton. That game becomes the first team to see three players aged 18 or younger appear in the same Premier League game since May 2016, when West Brom did so against Liverpool. Join us on Telegram!
