TOP 5 best football debuts ever following Erling Haaland’s hat-trick

Erling Haaland enjoyed one of the best debuts in football history on Saturday. Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund in January transfer window, following his impressive season at RB Salzburg, where he scored 29 goals in 27 games. In the 56th minute of the game against Augsburg, with Borussia 3-1 down, boss Lucien Favre decided to give Haaland a chance to shine. It took just three minutes into his debut, to score a goal. In the 70th minute, Haaland scored again and the 19-year-old completed his hat-trick nine minutes later. Three goals in 23 minutes is a superb performance in debut. But Haaland isn’t the only player who’s had a near-perfect debut. Here are five players that also impressed on their debut for the club. Romario/ Barcelona vs Real Sociedad/ 1993 Romario was a part of Johan Cruyff’s “Dream Team,” in which he helped the club with La Liga title. The Brazilian made his debut for Barcelona against Real Sociedad. The player netted a hat-trick and went on to score 30 goals in La Liga games in his first season for the Catalan giants. Ronaldo/ Real Madrid vs Alaves/ 2002 If Haaland, scored his first goal for Borussia Dortmund in three minutes, it took just 61 seconds for Ronaldo to score his first goal for Real Madrid. Ronaldo scored another goal against Alaves and left the pitch receiving a standing ovation. Wayne Rooney/ Manchester United vs Fenerbahce/ 2004 Manchester United legend Rooney made his mark on United’s books from the very first game for the Red Devils. In the Champions League match against Fenerbahce, Rooney created an assist and scored a hat-trick. Federico Macheda/ Manchester United vs Aston Villa/ 2009 Macheda is another United star on the list. During the 2008/09 Premier League season, United were locked in a title battle with Liverpool and they needed a victory against Aston Villa. The Argentinian made his debut In the 59th minute of the game against Swansea and scored his first goal ten minutes later. He then assisted David Silva and scored a sensational goal in stoppage time.
