Manchester City are the dominant force of English football right now. The Citizens completed the country’s first ever domestic treble in 2018/19 season.  Nevertheless, achieving that level of success has been fueled by spending big money.

It’s the only way in modern football with eight clubs now spending more than £1billion on transfers since 2008.

In 2008, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe joining Paris Saint-Germain for £200million and £166million, respectively. But Manchester City top the list of top 20 spenders in Europe.
