TOP 10 free agents in 2020: Modric, Willian, Matic

Some of the world’s top players are into the final year of their contracts, meaning they could leave at the end of the season, in the summer of 2020. Many will be looking around lower league sides in the hope of a deal, but there are also some stars who are now up for grabs for free. Here are the top 10 free agents in 2020, by Transfermarkt. Luka Modric (Real Madrid) Modric's deal runs out in 2020 and the 33-year-old could decide it is time to leave the club. The Croatia international continues to be linked with a move away from Real Madrid. The Spanish club are looking to add Modric in the swap deal for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen but remains to be seen whether Modric would be willing to go. Last year, Modric had been linked with a move to Inter Milan. The club’s chief football officer Zvonimir Boban has confirmed the interest, however, Modric decided to remain at Santiago Bernabeu. AC Milan are also interested in the player. Image Source: Getty Images Edinson Cavani (PSG) Cavani, 32, will be considering his next move due to competition with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. MLS could be on the great destination with David Beckham’s Inter Miami are keen. Cavani has emerged as a target for Manchester United during the summer transfer window. Willian has revealed he will only depart the club if the Blues want him to go. Chelsea and Frank Lampard have the chance to keep him at the club, but the Blues’ manager could also be looking to sell him to continue to freshen the squad. Willian is hoping for a fresh two-year deal but Chelsea have not been keen to offer that over-30 in recent years. Barcelona have been linked with Willian and the Blues could decide to sell him during January, rather than losing him free. However, the player himself insists he still has “ a couple of good years” left at the highest level and hinted he could yet sign a new contract. But his future will remain unclear and Jose Mourinho will decide, will he remain or go.  Manchester United are in the list of interested clubs for the player.
