Football fans will love this December as there are numerous fascinating clashes to come. In Premier League there will be nine games on Boxing Day spread over the four kick-off times, including Leicester vs Liverpool, also couple of derbies are scheduled.  Champions League group stage will be over and fans will learn the qualified teams that will continue the tournament at the knockout phase. From Bundesliga, fans will love to witness the clash between the league leader Borussia Monchengladbach and last term’s champions Bayern Munich, that struggle to get into the form and do not show their best display.  The long-awaited El Clasico will take place this December. The most exciting clash in La Liga was cancelled due to fears of civil unrest following days of protesting in Barcelona after nine Catalan separatist leaders were jailed.

Borussia Monchengladbach bounced back to winning ways in the Bundesliga last week after they took down Freiburg with a 4-2 at home. With just one loss from their last five matches in the league, the home side are still holding on to the top spot in the standings. On the other hand, last term’s champions have suffered their first loss after sacking Niko Kovac in the most recent match against Bayer Leverkusen. However, that doesn’t guarantee a win for Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Manchester derby is always an essential clash in the Premier League and all eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium when City take on United, as the two footballing giants will face each other for the first time this season. After winning Tottenham on Wednesday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are expected to play more confidently, while the Citizens have fallen some way short of the exacting standards they have set themselves over recent years under Pep Guardiola’s reign.
