Henrikh Mkhitaryan-200: Milestone goal against Verona

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has scored the 200th goal of his career for Roma during 3-1 win over Verona on Sunday. Mkhitaryan was sidelined through injury for 2 months and delayed the celebration of his milestone goal. Since joining the Italian side the 30-year-old midfielder has only featured in 6 matches and has netted twice. Mkhitaryan scored his first goal for Roma in his first match against Sassuolo (4-2). Roma was the second foreign club that Mkhitaryan has scored for in his first match. Before that, he did the same for the FC Metalurh Donetsk, which was his first foreign club. In Donetsk July 16th 2009, in the Europa League Qualification Round 2 first game (3-0) against Partizan Minsk, Mkhitaryan opened the score at the end of the first half netting his first goal for Donetsk Metalurh. That was the first official fixture for the Ukrainian club and Mkhitaryan played the full-time. Mkhitaryan scored his first goal for Shakhtar Donetsk in his second match, 4-1 win against Taviriya. He played 90 minutes and scored his team's final goal. Mkhitaryan needed 134 minutes to score his first goal for Shakhtar as he was substituted in his first game in 62nd minute, against Obolon-Brovar. In Borussia Dortmund Mkhitaryan scored his first goal after 3 games. In September 1st, 2013, the Armenian international netted for the first time for the German club during 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. Mkhitaryan needed 181 minutes in total to score his first goal in Bundesliga. The longest fans have waited for his first goal in the Premier League for Manchester United as he netted for the first time in his 11th match on December 8th, 2016 during 2-0 Europa League win over Zorya. In those 11 games, Mkhitaryan didn't play 90 minutes and was in the starting lineup only for 5 matches. He needed 463 minutes to score for the Red Devils. However, in Arsenal, the Armenian International needed even more time (547 minutes) to score his first goal as he netted for the first time in his 8th game for Arsenal on 8 March 2018, during Europa League 1/8 final game against AC Milan. He scored 29 goals for the Armenian squad and 9 in the Youth Armenian squad. The majority of his goals(126) Mkhitaryan scored for the foreign clubs- Metalurh Donetsk and Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Arsenal and Roma. 88 out of his 126 goals Mkhitaryan scored in the Ukrainian, German, English and Italian leagues, 14- in the Ukrainian, German and English Cup tournaments, 1- in the German Super Cup and 23- in the European tournaments. The most productive season in Mkhitaryan's football career was 2012/13 in Shakhtar Donetsk when he scored 29 goals in his 42 appearances and became Ukraine's top scorer with 25 goals. Mkhitaryan's goals are believed to be more valuable as were scored against strong rivals. Only Vardan Ghazaryan from Armenian footballers has more abroad goals (155) than Mkhitaryan. However, Ghazaryan has scored the goals in the Lebanon league that cannot be compared to Ukrainian, German, English and Italian leagues. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has become the second player in Armenia after Independence that has scored 200 goals. For now, the top scorer in the Armenian football is Arsen Avetisyan who has scored 236 goals- all of them in Armenian clubs and the Armenian team. Mkhitaryan has good chances to break Avetisyan's record and become Armenian football top scorer of all time.
