Thibaut Courtois speaks out on controversial Chelsea exit ahead of Champions League semi-final

  Thibaut Courtois says that he has nothing but happy memories of representing Chelsea as Real Madrid are preparing to face the Blues in the Champions League semi-finals. The Blues qualified for the next round after having celebrated a 2-1 on aggregate win over Porto, while Madrid celebrated a 3-1 on aggregate victory over Liverpool. Courtois played for Chelsea from 2011 to 2018 before he joined La Liga side. He also spent part of his career from 2011 to 2014 on loan at Atletico Madrid. And having spent a loan spell at Atletico, Courtois wanted to return to Spain as he wanted to be closer to his family. After months of uncertainty, the Blues let the goalkeeper to leave for La Liga and signed Kepa Arrizabalaga as a replacement. Reflecting on his departure ahead of his Chelsea reunion, Courtois BeIN Sports: "It will be very nice to see a lot of familiar faces and I wish there was public at Stamford Bridge because there was a lot of happy moments I had there. "Even though maybe my departure wasn’t in the best way, or it was put that way, that it wasn’t the best way, I only have good memories.
