James Maddison has signed a new four-year contract at Leicester City, according to the Athletic. David Ornstein claims the midfielder has already signed as Manchester United considered making a swoop for the playmaker.
Other top clubs have also been linked with Maddison, but he decided to sign a new deal with the Foxes. The new contract at the club will earn Maddison £110,000-a-week according to Ornstein. He will be on a similar level of wage to the Premier League's top scorer and Leicester forward Jamie Vardy.
Maddison's decision to commit his future to the club will be a key to the club's hopes of being able to push for a Champions League spot next season. They missed out on Europe's elite competition following defeat to Manchester United.
The playmaker joined the Foxes' as the club paid Norwich £20m for his signature in 2018. Since then he scored 16 goals and registered 10 assists.
