"That's been a big issue" - Journalist slams Tottenham's 'huge disappointment'

Ricky Sacks, Lee McQueen, Jamie Brown and Jason McGovern have been reviewing Tottenham Hotspur’s 2019/20 campaign, with a focus on key results across the season, the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino and appointment of Jose Mourinho, as well as the best and worst performers for the Lilywhites. One topic of conversation on the recent episode, which was titled: ‘2019/20 Season Review & Awards‘, was Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. The Frenchman has struggled in his debut season with the Lilywhites. Brown named the former Lyon man as one of the biggest disappointments of the 2019/20 season on the podcast: “It was such an exciting signing when Tanguy Ndombele came in, I think that was really a big start for us. It was obviously fairly early on in the window when we managed to get him in, and it was kind of a real sign of what’s to come in the rest of this window. "It felt as though we’d found the perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele, of course, [a] very unique player, but Tanguy Ndombele, in terms of how strong he was on the ball, all the qualities he showed, he showed that he can be a person that could come in and replace that really important piece of the jigsaw that we lost, but that’s been a big issue for us in terms of, we needed that refresh. We got players in, but none of them came and made an impact, and Tanguy Ndombele at £60 million was a huge disappointment.” Source: thisisfutbol
