Tanguy Ndombele and the Tottenham stars to benefit from Premier League decision over Fulham game

Tottenham's fixture with Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening has been postponed a matter of hours before the 6pm kick-off following positive Covid-19 cases at Fulham. Given the uncertainty over whether or not the game would take place following reports on Tuesday evening that the fixture was 'in doubt', football.london claims that Jose Mourinho and his players were ready to travel to the stadium to play the game. But some players could benefit from the decision regarding the Fulham match. Eric Dier is Mourinho's first-choice centre-back at Tottenham and he has so far played 19 games in all competitions for the Lilywhites this term. Given he's now playing for several weeks for Spurs after such a mixed time last campaign, the ex-Sporting CP man is someone who could do with a breather. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been excellent since his summer move from Southampton and he has played in all but two games in 2020/21. A few days without a game will certainly do the player good. Three games in the space of seven days may have been too much for Tanguy Ndombele and that's why a rest could do him well. Given how well he played at Wolves last Sunday, Spurs fans will be expecting more of the same against Leeds. Son Heung-min is taken out of the team due to the amount of football he's played since September. The South Korean has been on fire for Tottenham with 14 goals and seven assists so far. Mourinho has previously admitted that he will look to protect Harry Kane and give Carlos Vinicius a chance in the team. Such a key player for Tottenham, the England captain has unfortunately tended to pick up injuries in the second part of a season for the past few years now. A few days without a game is only a good thing for Tottenham's star man.
