Former Liverpool player Don Hutchison reckons Steven Gerrard would be better off waiting on an Anfield return to eventually replace Jurgen Klopp amid Tottenham links. The Rangers manager has been linked with a Spurs after they have sacked Jose Mourinho.

The Liverpool icon has just ended the Rangers’ 10-year wait for a Premiership league title. But Hutchison believes, his place is at Anfield.

HITC quote Hutchison as telling ESPN: “I think he’s waiting for the Liverpool job. Just leave him at Rangers, let him win another title and just when the time is right I think he’ll come back to Liverpool.

“Why would you take Spurs? He ain’t going to get anywhere at Spurs. Harry Kane will be off by the time he gets there. Son might be off. I don’t see that bit.”
