Sky Sports: Reported Liverpool target close to agreeing new deal, ending speculation

Ben White is close to agreeing on a new contract with Brighton and Hove Albion, according to the report of Sky Sports. The 22-year-old has been linked with the move to Liverpool, while newly-promoted Leeds United have also joined the race for the defender. Brighton turned down three offers from Leeds, while the latest report claims the Seagulls' have no intention to sell him as the club boss Graham Potter now believes White is ready to play for their side in the top-flight. “He’s done brilliantly at Leeds and helped them get promotion – that’s fantastic for them, fantastic for him,” he told Sky Sports. “But he’s our player and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
