Sadio Mane speaks out on Coutinho, Firmino, Van Dijk, Messi…. Press Conference
Liverpool star Sadio Mane has given press-conference ahead of Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona.
Senegalese international who has scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist in 10 UCL matches this season.
He has also scored Liverpool’s only goal against Real Madrid in last season’s final and Mane thinks that experience was good for the team in current conditions.
"It was a really good experience for our players to play in the final last season and face one of the best teams in the world." Mane said (via James Pearce)
Mane was asked if Virgil Van Dijk could successfully play against Lionel Messi.
"Sure. We are all confident in him, and he will give everything to the team. We will try everything to get a positive result." he added.
He also find some words for his ex-teammate Philippe Coutinho: He's a great, great player. I was a bit jealous that Barcelona got him! He's still young and will improve a lot because he's a hard worker."
Mane hopes to score at Camp Nou and help his team get a positive result ahead of second leg at Anfield Road.
Senegal star also said they’re happy to see Roberto Firmino back in the squad as Brazilian could be crucial for the match.
One of the Spanish journalists asked about playing in La Liga. Mane added that he loves La Liga, but it is cool to play in EPL.
