Ruiz to earn £15m less than Joshua after shock title victory

Photo/Nick Potts/Getty Images Andy Ruiz Jr caused one of the biggest shocks in the history of heavyweight boxing by stopping Anthony Joshua in seven rounds to inflict his first defeat and win the IBF, WBA and WBO titles at Madison Square Garden. However, Ruiz will bag £5m. Joshua, meanwhile,  will earn £20m from the deal agreed before the fight in New York. The most Ruiz Jr has earned for a win was a reported £382,000 against Devin Vargas in 2018.
