Romano: Tottenham prioritize the signing of Rennes young starlet

  Tottenham are interested in signing Stade Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, as reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.  Romano wrote on twitter: “Tottenham have decided to make a move for Eduardo Camavinga (17yo). Jose Mourinho wants him to be Spurs main target this summer. While Stade Rennais is asking for 40m€, they will consider to sell him for a bit less. More to come.”

Camavinga, 17, joined Rennes’ first team last summer and has made an immediate impact. He has been a transfer target for clubs like Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of the youngster. So is Jose Mourinho.  The Portuguese is looking for possible options to improve the center of the midfield. Camavinga, who has a 37.5 mln market value (according to Transfermarkt), could become a long-term solution for the Portuguese and for the North London side.  Eduardo has scored one goal and provided two assists last season, but his functions aren’t about scoring or creating. Camavinga is good at reading the game, making right decisions and controlling the game in the center. Those are the qualities every manager needs. And when we talk about a 17-year-old player, we can only imagine how good he can become in the future.
