Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly clashing with club chief Marina Granovskaia behind closed doors over Frank Lampard sack decision.
The 42-year-old is fighting for his Stamford Bridge job after his side’s 2-0 loss to Leicester in their Premier League clash on Tuesday night. And, should they lose their FA Cup showdown to Luton Town on Sunday, a parting of the ways could be on the cards.
Blues spent big on Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell during the summer transfer window, however, all have struggled to get going in west London.
According to ESPN, Abramovich and Granovskaia are clashing behind the scenes. It’s reported the pair are torn over whether to wield the axe now, and hire an interim replacement, or wait and see until the end of the season.
Interim replacements Avram Grant and Andriy Shevchenko have been mooted but, at the top, Chelsea are unsure over what course of action to take.
