Roger Federer matches Agassi's US Open quarter-final mark

Roger Federer defeated No. 15 seed David Goffin 6-2, 6-2, 6-0 after one hour and 19 minutes on Sunday to reach his 13th US Open quarter-final, tying former World No. 1 Andre Agassi for the second-most in the Open Era. "It was great. David [Goffin] didn't have his best day either. He was struggling. I was down on the score early so had to come back mentally," said Federer. "But then when I was up a break I started to feel like he wasn't playing the same way and I was very happy with my level of play. It was a great day. I'm very happy, of course! "At this stage, having fun is crucial. In between [your career] you go through some stages where you feel you miss out on a few things but I see the glass half full. I have seen some incredible people and places around the world. But you have to see success too. Just saying 'I love playing tennis and getting my ass kicked every day' doesn't help! I've been fortunate to have a little bit of success too."
