The 2019 US Open is the 139th edition of tennis’ US Open and the fourth and final Grand Slam event of the year.
Novak Djokovic is the men’s singles defending champion and he started the tournament with a masterful performance. The match against Roberto Carballes Baena had not even reached two hours when he completed a 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 victory and moved into the second round. In the second round, he beat Argentina’s Juan Ignacio Londero 6-4, 7-6(3), 6-1. While in the third round Djokovic beat Denis Kudla 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.
Roger Federer gave India’s Sumit Nagal a harsh introduction to Grand Slam Tennis. The five-time champion beat Nagal 4-6, -1, 6-2, 6-4 in two hours and 30 minutes. In the second round, Federer came from a set down to beat Damir Dzumhur 3-6 6-2 6-3 6-5. While in the third round he beat Dan Evans 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.
Rafael Nadal, meanwhile, beat John Milman 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 to extend his record in the first round at the US Open. Nadal reached into the third round of the US Open after Thanasi Kokinakis withdrew. In the third round, he beat Chung Hyeon 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

In the round of 16, Nadal will face Marin Clinic. Federer will play against David Goffin, while Djokovic will clash with Stan Wawrinka.
