Rio Ferdinand hammers Manchester United as he hails Liverpool

Ex-Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has slammed his old side’s transfer policy and performances, contrasting them with success at Liverpool. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Burnley and it followed the loss at Liverpool. Speaking on BT Sport after the match yesterday, Ferdinand slammed the situation unfolding at Old Trafford and outlined his fears for the future. He said: "You said £600 million spent on the squad but on what? I don't see that. I don't see that money. There is nothing there that suggests to me it is laying down the foundation for the future. I'm sitting up here and if I'm honest, I'm embarrassed. "I don't see what is coming next. I don't see a pathway. I don't see a target on the board and them saying: ‘let's get to that’. Put this result to one side and the actual recruitment and the foundation is not there to go on and challenge for something, not immediately but in a couple of years. "Money has been spent willy-nilly for the last several years. What has been invested? You can't defend this. Kids are not going to want to support United now around the country. They won't be wanting to come and see United based on what they are seeing out there. It's not going to happen. Fans are walking out after 84 minutes, it's an embarrassment. People at the top need to look and see this and make changes. I don't see where they are going."  Source- Liverpool ECHO  Join us on Telegram!
