Sky Sport reporter Guillem Balague has recently revealed that Arsenal turned down the opportunity to sign French star Kylian Mbappe for the bargain price of just £7million when he was 17 years old, while PSG signed him for a fee of £166m.
While at Monaco, the youngster attracted the interest of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. The Gunners were close to sign him, but Mbappe’s family demanded £7million to complete the move which Arsenal refused to pay.
At that time Arsenal saw the sum to be too much for a player of just 17 years old.
Against Argentina in the first match of the round of 16 at the World Cup 2018 he showed his pace and his quality proving everyone he deserves to be one of top players in Europe.
