Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez isn’t a priority for Unai Emery in the current transfer window.
Arsenal are on the lookout for creative players who can supply strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette and Suarez has appeared to be the best option. The 25-year-old is rarely given La Liga outing, as Ernesto Valverde mainly deploying him in the Copa del Rey.
But Ballague says the Emirates outfit would rather spend money on shoring up their backline rather than on Suarez.
“Denis Suarez wants to go to Arsenal or to stay at Barcelona,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“But there’s a problem with that. Barcelona want to get money for him.
“And Arsenal only want to take him on loan because they’ve got other priorities.
“While they do want a midfielder, Unai Emery wants centre-backs - one or two.
“So with that in mind, Denis Suarez is not a total priority.
“But he is desperate to leave Barca. He has offers from Napoli, Sevilla, Valencia, West Ham and Watford.
“But they all want him on loan. But Barcelona want a decision this week, as soon as possible.
“They will not accept a loan deal right now, unless there is an obligation to buy him at the end of it.”
Arsenal face West Ham when they return to Premier League action on Saturday (12.30pm).
