RB Leipzig send Twitter message about Werner and Tottenham amid Liverpool interest

Timo Werner is one of Europe's most wanted strikers now, with 20 goals in 21 games this season in the Bundesliga. Liverpool are the latest side linked with the 23-year-old's move. and Sport Bild report that Jurgen Klopp has singled out Werner as the ideal player to improve his already prolific attack. Amid the speculations, RB Leipzig's Twitter account responded to the tweet from a transfer rumour account, mockingly tweeting that Werner is heading to Tottenham.

And Leipzig's statement is quite accurate, as the German side visit Tottenham in the Champions League next week on February 19. However, according to The Express, in January Werner was on Tottenham's striker shortlist, although Leipzig were never going to let him leave mid-season, especially to their Champions League opponents.
