Liverpool urged to take £25m hit on Adam Lallana and let him join Premier League rivals

Former Premier League forward Darren Bent thinks Liverpool should let Adam Lallana return Southampton in the summer. Lallana joined the Reds for £25m in 2014, becoming a key player in the squad. However, in recent seasons the striker faced injuries and found his playing time limited. He hasn't made more than 13 Premier League appearances since 2017/18 campaign. The English professional's contract expires at the end of the season, and Jurgen Klopp isn't expected to renew it. And Bent thinks it would be better for Lallana to join his former side. He told Football Insider: "Southampton, I could see him going back there. I can see him going back to Southampton. The one that everyone says whenever you talk about a player dropping down is Everton but that’s not going to happen. Southampton would be perfect. He needs to go and start playing again regularly. He’s been a great servant for Liverpool, he’s won some great trophies there but he’s spent way too much time for someone of his ability not playing games."
