Press Conference: Lampard REVEALS truth behind Havertz' bid, speaks about Pedro, Willian and gives injury updates ahead of Man City clash

Chelsea host Manchester City at Stamford Bridge for their 31st Premier League clash. The Blues are eyeing three points to stay in the top-four. Both sides go into the blockbuster contest with a 100% record since lockdown, with Chelsea beating Aston Villa on Sunday and Man City winning two from two so far. Ahead of the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has faced the press. The boss assured that there are no new injury concerns. "Tomori a week away and Hudson-Odoi still searching for fitness," he said. Willian and Pedro have signed a contract extension until the end of the current season. "I am pleased, negotiations were easy. They wanted the same thing. They are important players, so I'm happy," said Lampard. "We are still talking to the players, Willian in particular. I felt confident that they would remain. They have been fantastic for the club. We will keep talking and see." It has been suggested today, that Chelsea have made a first bid for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz. "He is a top player, but I'm not going to comment on any other players. No bids have gone in," said Lampard. Liverpool could win the title earlier this season if Chelsea beat Manchester City, however, Lampard doesn't think about it: "I have no thought of Liverpool's situation. I respect what Liverpool have done, but we want to try to win." Against Aston Villa, Lampard's side came from behind. On the matter, the boss commented: "I'm not sure why (it hasn't more). I was pleased with it but we have to eradicate some of the mistakes. We saw what we expected to see in tempo." Chelsea boss also spoke about Man City's Phil Foden: "Every young player is different depending on themselves and our players have different journeys as well. The talent is there with Foden that is easy to see. But I won't speculate on how Pep should do his job." About chasing down third-placed Leicester, who are three points ahead of Chelsea, Lampard said: "We have to be realistic and honest, but we have to just get as many points as we can. We have tough games but we have to just focus on ourselves. The competition is fierce., I'm not focusing on others, just ourselves." Source: Football.london
