Press Conference: Jose Mourinho on Son's injury, Kane's future and more

Tottenham are set to return to action as the Premier League action resumes after the international break. Spurs are set to face Newcastle at the St. James Park and ahead of the match head coach Jose Mourinho has talked to the press, providing injury updates, news on Harry Kane's future and more.

Asked whether the talk over Kane's future surprises him, Spurs boss said:

"I cannot play that game. I have to focus on what he is for us. Of course I'm always pleased with my players when they go to international games but I cannot play that game. I can only focus on what he does for us and the effort he put in for us at Villa, the effort he put in for England, and the match at Newcastle and whether playing well or not, he will be there for the team. "I want Harry to be with us what he has been. I want Harry to repeat against Newcastle the same performance he had against Aston Villa, the same commitment, desire and leadership. I know he will." On Son Heung-Min's injury, Mourinho said: "Good. Sonny's good. Yeah. He will be selected. Yep. "He was injured. He trained with the team fully for the first time this morning. Yesterday he was coming to do partial exercises, not a complete session. This morning was the first time he did it and last week he didn't train at all. So it was completely impossible for him to play in the international period. "It would have also been impossible to play if the game was yesterday or Tuesday, so this time was a good time for him to recover from injury." On more injury news, Tottenham boss said: "So at the moment we have Doherty and Ben Davies out and apart from that everyone is fit.  "[Reguilon] is ready."
