Press Conference: Frank Lampard on team news, Norwich game and Man City verdict

Chelsea will host Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. The Blues had a really disappointing 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United at the weekend, denting their hopes to secure a Champions League place. Ahead of the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has faced the press. The boss started his conference with a verdict on Manchester City's Champions League ban. "I was pretty neutral on it really. I didn't know much about the case, I just looked at the result at it this morning. I don't see beyond the games in hand, we want to win them. I was never pinning my hopes on it, we just looked at ourselves," he said. Lampard is concentrated on the games ahead: "My only concern are the games ahead. We are at a critical stage of the season. We know what is in front of us. We have to try to finish the job." On their opponents, Norwich, the boss added: "If you don't turn up and perform, it doesn't matter about momentum. But having good home form gives us confidence. Norwich we have to treat them with upmost respect. They can feel unfortunate with some of their results." Asked how he dealt with the defeat to Sheffield, Lampard said: "I don't have a set way of dealing with it, just how I see fit. I like to watch games back. The players could feel they weren't at their best, we are moving on and we have a positive feeling in the camp. Sheffield United have taken big teams all the way this year. I won't dwell on the game, it can happen to any team. It's something we don't like, but we are striving to be better and it is important for that." Lampard also gave his update on team news and especially on N'Golo Kante. "Kante is not fit. He has a chance for the FA Cup semi-final. Andreas came off at half-time with an injury. But he is back fit." Source: Football.london
